Topic: Google Chrome Connection Errors | Status: Updated
What is this error?
The "ERR_NO_PKG" error in Google Chrome indicates that the browser is unable to establish a proper connection with the requested website. This often results from issues related to the network configuration or the website itself.
How to Fix It
If you encounter the "ERR_NO_PKG" error, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
- Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your device is connected to the internet. Try opening other websites to confirm connectivity.
- Restart Your Router: Power cycle your modem and router. Unplug them for about 10 seconds, then plug them back in and wait for them to reboot.
- Clear Browser Cache: In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data. Check "Cached images and files" and click "Clear data."
- Disable VPN or Proxy: If you are using a VPN or proxy, disable it and try accessing the website again. Sometimes these services can interfere with your connection.
- Check Firewall Settings: Inspect your firewall and antivirus settings to ensure they are not blocking Google Chrome or the specific website. Temporarily disable them to test connectivity.
- Reset Chrome Settings: Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings. Click on “Restore settings to their original defaults” to reset Chrome.
- Check DNS Settings: Change your DNS settings to Google DNS. Go to Network Connections, right-click your connection, select Properties, and then select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Choose “Use the following DNS server addresses” and enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
- Reboot Your Computer: A system reboot can help clear any temporary issues and re-establish a fresh connection.
