Topic: Nintendo Switch Error Codes | Status: Updated

What is this error?

Error 2101-0001 on the Nintendo Switch typically indicates a network issue that prevents the console from connecting to the Nintendo eShop or other online services. It may arise due to problems with your internet connection or the Nintendo servers themselves.

How to Fix It

  1. Check Your Internet Connection: Ensure your Wi-Fi is functioning correctly by testing it on other devices. If your internet is down, resolve that issue first.
  2. Restart Your Nintendo Switch: Power off your console completely, then turn it back on. This can resolve various temporary connectivity issues.
  3. Restart Your Router: Unplug your modem and router from power for about 30 seconds. Plug them back in and allow them to reconnect to the internet.
  4. Check Nintendo Server Status: Visit the Nintendo website or check their official social media channels to verify if there are any known outages or maintenance events ongoing.
  5. Change DNS Settings: Go to System Settings > Internet > Internet Settings, select your network, then Change Settings. Scroll to DNS Settings and set it to Manual. Input Google’s DNS: 8.8.8.8 for Primary and 8.8.4.4 for Secondary, then save.
  6. Reset Network Settings: If the problem persists, reset the network settings on your Nintendo Switch by going back to System Settings > Internet > Internet Settings, then selecting your network and choosing “Forget Network.” Reconnect to your Wi-Fi.
  7. Contact Nintendo Support: If none of the above solutions work, consider reaching out to Nintendo Support for further assistance. They may provide additional troubleshooting or confirm if your device requires servicing.
